Review: Feel Good Desserts ~ French Vegan Macaron Cookies

MacaronAllStacked I thought I had died and gone to vegan heaven, with heaven coming in the form of French macarons from Feel Good Desserts. From the moment I saw photos of these macarons on social media sites, I knew I had to get my hands (more like my mouth) on them. It was months before that happened, since I couldn’t locate them anywhere near where I live in Northern California. Thankfully, Feel Good Desserts was kind enough to send me a sampling of their colorful fruity and chocolate flavored macarons just so I could try them and of course, share my thoughts with all of you!

First off, let’s not get the American version of “macaroons” confused by the infamous French macaron. As described by Feel Good Desserts:

“A macaron is a specialty pastry comprised of a crunchy, yet delicate outer shell with a soft almond  meringue inside. Each macaron is filled with a decadent cream or a delicious chocolate ganache. American macaroons can be prepared in ten minutes, but it actually takes five hours to make French macarons!”

I had no idea what the difference was between a macar-o-o-n and a macaron, but I am quite clear now!

These sweet, bite-sized treats are slightly crunchy but airy on the outside and have a soft center. I love how colorful they are too. The macarons come in an array of flavors and package sizes. Each Feel Good Dessert cookie is available in the following flavors:

Raspberry

Blueberry

Banana

Green Tea

Chocolate

Coffee

Hazelnut

Vanilla

All Feel Good Desserts products are totally vegan, soy free, refined sugar free, preservative free, as well as gluten free. Only natural colors and flavors are used in their ingredients, all derived from fruits, vegetables or edible flowers. Whether it’s Banana or Hazelnut you’re after, you can be sure that your taste buds will be thrilled with all of their dainty treasures. These macarons are perfect for tea parties, bridal showers, weddings and look vibrant on any Sunday brunch table.

Which is my favorite? It’s difficult to choose since these goodies are so perfectly reminiscent of their non-vegan counterparts, but I’d have to say that the Blueberry followed by the Chocolate won over my little vegan macaron-loving heart.
