If I said I didn’t love sweets, I would be lying. My last two blog posts, they pretty much speak for themselves. Both of them involve the creamy, sweet, yet sometimes bitter treat that most everyone loves, chocolate. Technically, it’s still the month of love so I’m continuing on with my coverage of sweets, because why not?
Recently I discovered what I believed to be a new vegan chocolate bar, but come to find out, the company has been around for eighteen years and is located right here in my neck of the woods in Northern California! The bars are just the right size for a sweet pick-me-up and they are, of course, covered in 61% dark semi-sweet chocolate. Allow me to introduce The Roman Bar, a chocolate-dipped vegan fruit cookie bar:
This delicious bar is available in select grocery stores primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California. The bars can also be purchased online by the case (12 bars). The Roman Bar is available in three delicious flavors: Blueberry, Peach Apricot and Raspberry.
What sets these bars apart from the many other vegan bars on grocery store shelves is their size (2 ounces). The bars aren’t too small and not too big, they’re about two thirds the size of a typical health food bar. I think they’re just right. They are also quite filling, a perfect little mid-day snack.
How would I describe The Roman Bar? It tastes similar to that of a fig newton with a chocolate covered coating. Take a look for yourself. Decadent, eh?
As the company so aptly states, the bars are “pure fruit goodness in luscious dark chocolate.” I’d have to agree! I strongly suggest that you get your hands on some of these sweet treats!
