With the seasons starting to change from summertime to autumn and kids returning to school, what better time to think about…clothes? Every woman’s favorite topic, right?

I have been a lover of fashion for most of my life. I’m guessing it all started around the time I began picking out my own clothes as a kid (my grandma being a big supporter since she used to drop me off at Southern California’s nicest mall [with her credit card with a note saying that I could use it]). I’d fill up plastic shopping bags from stores like Buffum’s and Nordstrom with jeans and T-Shirts from brands like Guess, Gap and Espirt. I guess it’s no wonder that I was voted “Best Dressed” in both junior high and high school. I wanted to be a model when I was a teen, and my family supported me in that venture by allowing me to attend modeling school on the weekends. Though I never took up modeling or fashion as a career, I still enjoy a good shopping trip and very much enjoy keeping up with the latest trends.

A few years ago I fell in love with Synergy Organic Clothing when I discovered their unique and eye-catching wares at an event in Oakland, California where they had a booth. I spent hours running back and forth to the restrooms trying on different dresses, skirts, tops, and yoga pants. I think it was (is) their bright color combinations along with their creative appliques that stole my heart. And when I learned that all of their clothing is made with a combination of natural fibers and organic cotton, I loved it even more. Not to mention, the company is based out of Santa Cruz, California, a place that I went to college and still consider my second home.

What’s so special about Synergy? They are a stylish and certified organic cotton, women’s apparel company that gives back, helps the planet and has a creative business model that includes empowering women in Nepal (where the clothes are handmade) by paying a “living wage”. All clothes are made using low-impact dyes and because the cotton is grown organically (which is what makes the clothes so soft), there is less pesticide usage and harm to the environment. Seriously, what’s not to love? Plus, as a wellness advocate and cancer survivor, I pay great attention to not only what what I put in my body, but on it as well. Click here to learn more about Synergy Clothing’s ethics.

As you can see from the photos, I have enjoyed many different types of Synergy Clothing from tops to sweatshirts to dresses. No matter what the pattern or style, I love just about every item that Synergy Clothing creates. While you might pay more for one of their designs, keep in mind that you are supporting a company that is making a difference in the lives of people and the planet. Plus, when you make a purchase from a company like Synergy, you are investing in something that lasts. From yoga attire to casual wear, there’s something fashionable and comfortable for women of all shapes and sizes.
