Product Review: Morrocco Method Hair Care

Straight. Wavy. Curly. Frizzy. Blonde. Brunette. Redhead. Beehive. Afro. Pixie. Flip. Bob. No matter what type, color or style you have, hair plays an important role in each of our lives. Why is there so much value placed on hair? Perhaps it’s because many of us feel that our hair defines us; it’s a way of setting us apart from others. Hair is something that many of us fuss over, not to mention, spend a lot of time and money on. Coming from someone who has lost all of her hair due to chemotherapy treatments, I have come to understand just how much I value my own hair.

I was recently introduced to Morrocco Method hair care products and have been surprised at how much I love these all vegan, raw, gluten-free, GMO-free, chemical-free, cruelty-free and wildcrafted hair care products. If you know anything about me, you know how I adamant am about staying as chemical and toxin free as possible. After having cancer twice, I have become very picky about not only what I put in my body, but on my body as well. As a general rule, I don’t put anything on my body that I wouldn’t eat. You can see why I was so excited to discover Morrocco Method products; they are so pure you could almost eat them, though I don’t recommend that you do.

MorroccoMethod

Over the last several months I have experimented with many of the Morrocco Method hair care products and while not all of their shampoos and conditioners worked for me, I did noticed a drastic difference in my hair with the products that did. My favorite was the Sea Essence Shampoo (enhanced with algae, spirulina, kelp, marine proteins, and essential botanicals to clean and rejuvenate the hair and scalp. Great for normal to dry hair types) and the Pearl Essence Cream Rinse (rich and soothing conditioner that moisturizes and detangles hair and scalp leaving the hair silky, soft and smooth. This is a rinse-out conditioner that is perfect for ALL hair types). I’d say overall after using for several weeks, my hair is softer, has less build up than before and less friz <– important to us curly haired folks! My curls are also more defined. And while I can’t prove it’s the hair care products, I get a lot of compliments on my hair, and I think it looks and feels the healthiest it has ever been before. And you don’t just have to take my word for it, I recently noticed that my hero, fellow vegan, and cancer survivor, Kris Carr was promoting Morrocco Method on her social media sites as well! Us plant eating cancer cowgirls sure do think alike!

If you take the Morrocco Method hair care plunge, I highly suggest sticking with the shampoo and conditioning products over a long period of time. Why? From my experience, it’s possible you might not see results right away. I found it easy to get discouraged in the beginning as these products are completely different than any others I’ve tried before. For instance, the products do not contain foaming agents so washing your hair becomes an entirely different experience. The company recommends that you rotate their different shampoos and conditioners each time you wash your hair and their user-friendly website does a great job of walking you through the process. I suggest trying one of their hair care packages to get started.

And for the record, Morrocco Method isn’t just shampoos and conditioners. I visited their website for the first time last year and was surprised at the array of products they offer — from shampoos to styling products, to hair color, and even products for pets.

xo, Kayle

  1. Props to you for beating cancer. Living a toxic free, nutritious lifestyle is extremely important and no doubt a way to avoid health risks. I beg you to read the book “the vegetarian myth”. Veganism and a plant based diet does not offer the health benefits (especially guarding against heart attack) that you promote. More importantly, it is a grave error to promote Veganism as an Eco friendly choice. Modern agriculture and especially annual crops have devastated this earth. I was vegan myself before I started digging deeper. I’m not trying to critsize your choices but asking you to please, please look in to what’s really behind the choice to survive on plants alone .

    1. Thanks for your thoughts Michelle. I have heard of The Vegetarian Myth though I haven’t studied it immensely. I appreciate your concerns of the vegan lifestyle and hope that we can continue this conversation via email. Feel free to get in touch with me through my contact page here on my website. Thank you.
