My Story

Howdy! This is how I became a vegan cowgirl. Check it out, pardner!

Once a cowgirl, always a cowgirl!

I grew up in Grass Valley in the heart of Northern California’s Gold Country, romping through wildflower covered meadows, climbing trees, swimming in creeks, riding horses and caring for a slew of animals on a five-acre farm with my single mom. A lover of nature and animals for as long as I can remember, I became a vegetarian in the 6th grade after my beloved cow, Cupcake, ended up on my dinner plate.

Years later, after being diagnosed with breast cancer at the ripe young age of 30, I made the transition from a vegetarian to a vegan diet. I have been living an animal-free lifestyle for almost nine years and am totally cancer free!

I now speak at conferences, and vegan related events. I have been featured as the “Survivor Story” in Keep a Breast‘s magazine, on The Vegan Zombie‘s cooking show and in Cosmopolitan magazine and, I was the cover girl on Insight Healthy Living Magazine as well as Inspire Health Magazine. My mission is to encourage people to live happier, healthier lives by putting more veggies on their plates and positive thoughts in their minds.

My free time is spent counseling newly diagnosed breast cancer patients at my local hospital, seeking out new vegan restaurants and products (especially cowgirl boots!), engaging in animal activism and living a life full of F-U-N!
