Back in March while cruising through the endless aisles of booths at Natural Products Expo West, I came across a sweet little nut company called Olomomo. While at first, I had a hard time remembering the name, it later stuck with me as well as their cute dancing monkey logo and tag line, “Be nutty.”
Olomomo nuts are created in the natural foods hub of the United States in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. According to their website, Olomomo was founded in 2008 under the idea of “creating the first socially and environmentally conscious nut companies.” They’re a company that gives back by supporting social justice and charitable causes both near and far. They use sustainable business practices as well. For instance, their 4 ounce packs are totally recyclable.
And from a foodie standpoint, I’d have to say that the nuts are super tasty. Plus, nothing quite tops the crunch! I love the variety of inventive and interesting flavors in both sweet and savory.
Cherry Vanilla Dream Almonds ~ a little fruit (cherry) and a little spice (vanilla).
Righteous Cinnamon Cayenne Almonds ~ a sweet & spicy party in your mouth inspired by Mexican hot chocolate. 
- Mango Chipotle Zinger Almonds ~ tangy, sweet, zippy, smoky & salty. Flavors take you on an exotic trip.
- Vim Vinegar & Sea Salt Almonds~ dry roasted where tangy meets salty. Like salt & vinegar chips. Yum!
- Chai Bliss Almonds ~ subtle hint of cardamom and vanilla infused with the deliciousness of chai tea.*
- Cosmic Maple Masala Pecans ~ maple sugar, spices and pecans. Nothing more to say. Epic.*
Besides their creative flavors, Olomomo nuts are all natural, using organic and fair trade ingredients whenever possible. These protein-rich roasted nuts have no added oils and are preservative free. They make great snacks that are naturally good for you because they contain essential minerals and smart fats (oleic acid). In addition, Olomomo nuts are also naturally gluten free, vegan and go great with beer and wine as well as coffee and tea or just by themselves. They are the perfect on-the-go snack perfect for athletes, travelers, kids and busy moms. Most flavors come in both grab & go 1.5 ounce packs as well as 4 ounce stand up bags.
Are you wondering which nutty flavors tantalized my taste buds? I’d have to say that my top three flavors were the Chai Bliss Almonds, the Cherry Vanilla Dream Almonds and the Cherry Vanilla Dream Almonds. I suppose that I tend to prefer the sweeter flavors to the savory when it comes to Olomomo nuts, but that’s probably because I have a very strong sweet tooth.
